The Inter-Continental Warda Resort On Lifou Island, New Caledonia

Despite the challenges faced in the past year with the pandemic affecting everything and everyone, Thierry Hardy/ Pascal Arright and their team at A.C.G.M have persevered trough these trying times and are on the threshold of completing this colossal project at the New Inter Continental Warda Resort on Lifou Island


The first of the three properties are scheduled to open in November 2021. The InterContinental Lifou Wadra Bay Resort will be a 50-room luxury hotel on the largest island of the Loyalty Islands. It will include all-day dining, a fitness centre, spa and outdoor pool. The A.C.G.M team has done incredible work on the InterContinental hotel and you can see from the rendering how it is coming to life.

I believe we all are excited to see the finished project. These pictures give a small sneak peak to what is to come. We see excellent attention to detail and design and keeping true to the surroundings the Fiber Reed synthetic thatch roofs look authentic and like they have been part of the surroundings for years.

However, this year came with its own collection of surprises for A.C.G.M. Thierry and his team not only faced the challenges of the covid – 19 pandemic, but a tropical cyclone as well. The Tropical Cyclone Niran was a very powerful tropical cyclone that brought severe impacts to North-eastern Australia and nearly made landfall in New Caledonia in February and March 2021. Even with gale force winds the newly refurbished synthetic thatch roof at another project of A.C.G.M stayed unaffected! This test from mother nature herself just emphasizes the durability and quality we provide with our synthetic thatch products.

Africa Roofing UK and Breeze House Company

More than 20 years ago, Andrew Peck, the founder and Chairman of Breeze House Company and Africa Roofing UK visited Fiber Roofing for the first time.  Every year since Andrew came to South Africa spending time to share ideas, to learn and to develop new products. This distributor relationship has developed into a long term “ partnership ” that we are very proud of. Andrew believes in training, and together with Fiber Roofing a training program has been developed. See Dave Davies, “ The Captain ” of African Roofing(UK), in action. Dave also visited Eucalyptus Forests and supervised the loading of timber containers on route to the UK.
